About the Job

TrialCard is looking for an exceptional Senior Software Developer to help build out our next generation web frameworks and web platforms for our clients.  The right candidate for this job would be someone who has significant experience in developing high volume, customer-facing web sites/applications utilizing JavaScript UI frameworks.  This position will be developing customer facing web solutions and building out our enterprise web platforms, while also providing support for existing web sites and applications in an Agile environment.


What you’ll be doing

  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including: daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, demos, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Work with stakeholders and your team to extract requirements/acceptance criteria and help to provide practical design solutions.
  • Collaborate with product owners and clients to design and create engaging web solutions utilizing JavaScript UI frameworks. Our applications use Vue.js.
  • Write quality code that adheres to industry and internal TrialCard standards.
  • Work with technical leads and architecture to help drive new initiatives in web application development.
  • Collaborate with QA to aid in crafting test plans and assist with creating automated regression/integration tests.
  • Continuously stay on top of current technology trends and assist with mentoring junior developers.
  • Contribute to the overall success of projects and the scrum team by assisting teammates to complete all stories within a given sprint.
  • Participate in code reviews and pull requests to ensure coding standards and quality are being followed.
  • Perform analysis to come up with the best balance of code quality vs. performance and scalability vs. delivery timing vs. work effort.
  • Update and improve existing code-bases as needed due to new requirements, framework updates, or dependency upgrades.

  • 5+ years of experience working on enterprise-level projects where you had significant hands-on experience in designing and developing responsive, scalable, high-traffic websites and applications.
  • Strong JavaScript experience in conjunction with using a framework such as Angular, Vue, or React.
  • Understanding of how REST APIs work and common API-related topics areas such as JSON, CORS, security (JWT tokens).
  • You understand why unit testing is important and do it on a daily basis.
  • You’re comfortable using Git either from the command-line or an IDE.
  • You work well in a team environment and are excited about following agile methodologies.


Technologies used

  • Modern JavaScript (we utilize Typescript)
  • Angular JS, Vue (Nuxt, Vue CLI, Vuex)
  • Modern JavaScript tooling (Webpack, Gulp, NPM)
  • CSS, SASS or other CSS pre-processor
  • Git (understanding of branching and merging)
  • Unit testing frameworks such as Karma, Jasmine, Mocha, Jest (we use Jest)


Bonus Points

  • Experience creating UI regression tests utilizing a framework such as Microsoft Playwright or TestCafe.
  • Experience creating API’s through Node.js or other back-end technologies.
